Tabi Shoes in collaboration with Tokyo Yuzen craftsmen group “SOMEMOYO”. Based on the concept of “traveling with tradition,” these shoes are made of high-quality lamb leather and highly reproducible printed leather. The delicate yuzen patterns designed by SOMEMOYO's craftsmen are placed on the leather, creating a pair that can be worn as if you were barefoot. The craftsman's skill has enhanced the reproduction of the delicate original design so that when you put both feet together, they look like a single piece of artwork. The sheepskin used is of a high grade and is characterized by its plump elasticity and rubber-like resilience.
For “Hokusai - Waves,” we chose Hokusai Katsushika from among the images of Japan that come to everyone's mind when they think of “images of Japan” in the hope that people overseas will also recognize it. Among Hokusai's works, we chose “Kanagawa Okinamiura” from “Fugaku Sanjurokkei (Thirty-six Views of Mt. Fuji)” because of its familiarity and its horizontal composition.
